How do I maintain my yearly lens?

The most important steps in keeping your lenses clean

Use dry, clean hands to insert your lenses.
  1. Use cleaning solution not water if you do need to clean your lenses.
  2. Store your lenses in solution each night to keep them fresh for the morning.

Is there a regular routine of caring for my contact lenses.

YES! It is important to establish a care routine for your lenses.

  1. Wash your hands well, as dirt easily transfers to contact lenses, increasing risks of eye infections. Avoid moisturising soaps and dry your hands with a lint free towel.
  2. Take one lens out at a time and clean with the recommended cleaning fluid. This removes built up waste produced from eyes as well as debris and cosmetics.
  3. Place the lens in the palm of your hand, covering it with cleaning solution.
  4. Rub it with your finger to effectively agitate and clean the lens.
  5. Rinse, making sure you remove all the solution and debris.
  6. Put your lens in a clean lens holder and fill up with fresh disinfecting solution. The disinfecting process kills microorganisms, removing them from the lens surface.
  7. Repeat steps from 1 to 5, for your second contact lens.

  4. Dispose lens cases after three months of use.
  5. Never re-use or top up old solution.
  6. Always simply pour away old solutions,
  7. Rinse and top up your contact lens case with fresh solution.
  8. Always wash your hands before handling your lens and make sure you dry them completely.
  9. Use some lint-free tissues to dry your hands with. Normal towels and tissues leave small traces of fiber on your hands which can cause severe discomfort if transferred to the contact lens surface.

It is recommended that you give your eyes a rest at least one day a week by wearing your glasses rather than lens.  All our lenses are FDA Approved.
